Dashboard builder
Create dashboards, add widgets, configure layout, and control mobile visibility.
Who can use the builder
Admin and super users can open Dashboard builder from the project menu. Viewers and standard users can view dashboards but cannot edit them.
Access is moving to User Experiences (personas): Executive, Portfolio Manager, Facility Manager, Energy Consultant, Engineer, and System Administrator. Each persona sets menus, landing pages, AI prompts, and capabilities. Invite users from Account Settings → Users and manage presets under Access & Personas.
Create a dashboard
In the builder, choose Add to create a new dashboard. You can start blank or generate from a meter tree.
When generating from a meter tree, select the tree and Amplifi will create widgets for each meter node. You can rename the dashboard afterward.
- Open Dashboard builder from the project menu.
- Click Add → Create new dashboard.
- Choose Blank or From metertree.
- Set historical or realtime mode and save.
Add and arrange widgets
Use the widget palette to add totals, gauges, comparisons, charts, KPIs, leaderboards, pie charts, sparklines, projections, solar forecast, and GFA.
Drag widgets to reorder them. Use the layout control to set grid columns (1–4). Set each widget height to small, medium, or tall.
Projections, solar forecast, and GFA
These widgets are available on historical dashboards and help teams plan ahead and compare sites fairly—not only review past totals.
Projections forecast kWh and cost from monthly history. Choose a 1-, 3-, or 6-month horizon, median or average baseline, and optionally net site use (load minus solar) when generation offsets consumption. Benefit: earlier visibility of budget and load risk before the month closes.
Solar forecast shows weather-adjusted expected generation for the next 24, 48, or 72 hours, with historical weather overlap and similar-weather days. Select solar or generation meters and optional weather metrics (GHI, cloud, temperature). Benefit: realistic short-term solar outlook for operations and stakeholder expectations.
GFA (gross floor area) reports floor area and energy intensity (kWh/m²) for today or yesterday, with optional change vs the prior period. Configure total floor area (m²) in Project → Site Settings first. Benefit: normalize consumption by building size so different sites are comparable.
- Projections, solar forecast, and GFA require a historical dashboard (not realtime).
- GFA needs total floor area configured in Site Settings before intensity can be calculated.
Widget options
Each widget supports theme colours, compare/combine modes, period comparisons (today vs yesterday, previous period), header options (grand total, device count, breakdown, export CSV), and height presets.
Realtime dashboards poll live data; historical widgets use the viewer's selected date range on the live dashboard.
Show on mobile
Enable Show on mobile in the builder palette to surface a dashboard in the Amplifi Android app.
Per widget, you can enable Hide on mobile to omit heavy or admin-only widgets from the mobile view. Mobile users always have the Home energy breakdown regardless of dashboard settings.
- Curate one or two mobile-friendly dashboards per project rather than exposing every dashboard.
